(Buenos) Notches

January 22, 2010. Down 45 pounds. The smile is real.
It’s Day 19 of my third ZReduction. I am down 15 pounds. Pretty much on schedule. I have not been a perfect saint on this version of ZReduction either so I should be pretty happy.
Even the Chief Dieter has her bad days.
Something happened today that I had to blog about.
I have a lunch meeting so I decided to dress up a bit more than I do other days. I got out my smallest black pants and my go-to wide belt. These pants are the smallest of my myriad of black pants. Ladies, you know what I’m talking about. I probably have 10 pairs of black pants: with pockets, without pockets, different fabrics, different lengths depending which shoes I’ll be wearing. And on and on.
My smallest black pants are too big now and baggy in places. Still, I figured I’d wait on buying new ones until my next ZReboot period. But I have now decided I have to go buy pants. These just look stupid. They bag round my upper legs and around my butt and front so much that it looks like there’s fat packed in there where there’s nothing but air. Way too roomy.
So anyway, I put on my top and decided to put on my belt. I had just worn the belt about 10 days ago but I got a surprise anyway.
Let’s step back for a second and look at the history of this particular belt, which I bought at the beginning of winter.

Vacation June, 2009. The smile is fake.
Before The Zola Diet I had gotten to the point that the thought of accentuating my waist was ludicrous! I was wearing draped tops 100% of the time. Michelle Obama has certainly taken advantage of the wide belt fashion trend. So, why not try it? I found one that was a bit too small but I knew I could punch an extra hole in it and it would look good. I did that and wore the belt that way for a couple of months.
Then, ten days ago, I put the belt on and discovered it was too big on the punched hole spot but it fit on the the first real notch.
This moring, I put it on again. I had to cinch it on the second original notch. So I’m down two more notches on my go-to belt in less than 2 months. That’s the “miracle” of ZReboot. I love the reshaping aspect of The Zola Diet. And, of course, dropping another 15 pounds doesn’t hurt either.
I’m still nowhere near skinny. You can tell from the picture. But as a work in progress, this IS progress.
Oh funny story to add on: When we took the first pictures the pants looked terrible. They were SO baggy. Our assistant, Jennifer the Model (Really, she’s a model.) got involved and took a bunch of those paper clamps and took in the pants waist. Then she took in the pant legs with more clamps so they wouldn’t look so grossly large.
I can’t walk around town like that so I’ll still have to go buy some pants.
